Editorial Policy
On this page
Legal information is only useful if it is accurate and honest about its limits. These are the rules we follow.
Official sources first
We base our guides on official sources such as court websites, federal agencies (for example, USAGov, the CFPB, the FTC, the Department of Labor and the EEOC) and established legal aid organizations, and we link to them so you can check them yourself.
General information, no state guesses
US law differs by state and often by city or county. We describe general steps that apply broadly and tell you where to find your local rules. We do not publish state-by-state legal claims or deadline calculators unless we can source and maintain them properly.
Plain English
We write for people handling a problem on their own: short sentences, defined terms, and a clear next step at the end of each page.
Review and updates
Every guide shows a “Last reviewed” date. We re-check links and facts when we review a page and fix errors as soon as we learn about them. To report a mistake, email helpcampusdown@gmail.com with the page address and, if possible, a source.
No invented details
We do not publish made-up statistics, testimonials, case results or credentials. We do not display attorney badges or claim review by a lawyer unless that review actually happened.
Advertising
Ads are served by Google AdSense and are kept separate from the content, away from download buttons and legal help listings. Advertisers have no say in what we write.
